Sanibel Citizens Needed for SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training

As a sub-tropical barrier Island, Sanibel can be particularly impacted by quickly changing weather conditions; therefore, the City encourages residents to become trained in the national SKYWARN Storm Spotting System.

The Sanibel City Council is accepting applications for a citizen to be appointed as the City of Sanibel representative to the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC).

Community Park Playground Closed for maintenance on February 23rd and 24th.

On Monday, February 23rd and Tuesday, February 24th, the city will begin maintenance at the Community Park Playground located at 2221 Periwinkle Way.

The City of Sanibel Vegetation Committee is offering guided native vegetation and landscaping tours of City Hall grounds, planted exclusively with native plants.

Westbound Lane Closure on East Periwinkle Way Due To Utility Work on February 19th from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On Thursday, February 19th, utility work will start that will require closure of the westbound lane of East Periwinkle Way near the east end Lighthouse Beach parking lot between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
