Mayor Denham serves as the Council liaison and Vice Chair of the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council (RPC) and is a member of the RPC Climate and Energy Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Lower West Coast Watersheds Subcommittee, Northern Everglades Committee and the Metropolitan Planning Commission Transit Authority Oversite Committee (TAOC). Mr. Denham serves as the alternate Voting Delegate for the Florida League of Cities, is a member of the Florida League of Cities' Urban Planning Council and the Florida League of Cities' Environmental Quality Committee. The Audubon of Southwest Florida recently awarded Mayor Denham "Conservationist of the Year". The City of Sanibel Planning Commission liaison is rotated among the Councilmembers.
Vice Mayor Kevin Ruane

Vice Mayor Kevin Ruane serves as the Council liaison to the Audit Committee, General Employee Pension Board, and Police Pension Board. He is a member of the Florida League of Cities Taxation and Finance Committee, and serves as the Council liaison to the Tourist Development Council (TDC) and the Community Housing Resources (CHR) Board of Directors. Mr. Ruane is the alternate liaison to the Metropolitan Planning Organization. The City of Sanibel Planning Commission liaison is rotated among the Councilmembers.
Councilmember Jim Jennings
Term of Office March, 2007 - March, 2011
Councilmember Jim Jennings serves as the Council liaison to the City of Sanibel Parks and Recreation Committee and the Recreation Financial Assistance Committee. Mr. Jennings also serves as liaison to the Southwest Florida League of Cities of which he is the President. He is on the Board of Directors for the Florida League of Cities, and serving an appointment to the Florida League of Cities Legislative Committee. Mr. Jennings is a voting delegate to the National League of Cities. Councilmember Jennings serves as the liaison to the Lee County Horizon Council (Economic Development) and Metropolitan Planning Commission. The City of Sanibel Planning Commission liaison is rotated among the Councilmembers.

Councilmember Marty Harrity serves as Council liaison to the Historical Preservation Committee and the Historical Museum and Village, Inc. Mr. Harrity serves as alternate liaison to the Metropolitan Planning Commission Transit Authority Oversite Committee (TAOC). The City of Sanibel Planning Commission liaison is rotated among the Councilmembers.

Councilmember Peter Pappas serves as the Council liaison to the City of Sanibel Vegetation Commission. Mr. Pappas also serves on the Employee Dependent Scholarship Committee. The City of Sanibel Planning Commission liaison is rotated among the Councilmembers.
