Annual Street Resurfacing Project Begins August 13th

The City of Sanibel’s Annual Street Resurfacing Project will commence Friday, August 13, 2010. Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience to the public. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times. The public is reminded to use caution when traveling through a construction zone.

The following streets are included in this project:

  • Sanibel-Captiva Road (from Gulf Pines Drive to Blind Pass)
  • A portion of Wulfert Road
  • Wildlife Drive
  • Palm Ridge Road
  • Donax Street
  • Dixie Beach Boulevard (from Bunting Lane to Royal Poinciana)
  • A portion of Rabbit Road

Every year the City resurfaces selected roads based upon a time schedule and existing condition. This year’s road resurfacing contract amount is $679,141 involving full-width resurfacing of seven streets and several miscellaneous small paving project. The contractor is required to complete the project within 60 days.
