Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Hours for ALL City Operations and Refuse Collection
SANIBEL CITY HALL OFFICES will be closed in observance of Christmas on Thursday & Friday, December 25 & 26, 2008, and will resume regular operating hours on Monday, December 29, 2008.
Sanibel City Hall offices will also be closed in observance of New Year’s on Thursday & Friday, January 1 & 2, 2009 and will resume regular operating hours on Monday, January 5, 2009.
Refuse, recycling and vegetation waste collection by Waste Pro scheduled for Christmas week will be one day later beginning Thursday, December 25, 2008 and will continue for the remainder of the week. Therefore, if your normal pick-up day is Thursday, December 25th, your waste will be picked up on Friday, December 26th. Normal waste collection will take place on Monday, December 29th, but will be one day later beginning Thursday, January 1, 2009 continuing for the remainder of the week. The normal waste collection schedule will resume on Monday, January 5, 2009.
THE RECREATION CENTER will be open Wednesday, December 24, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and closed Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2008 resuming regular hours on Friday, December 26th. On New Years Eve, Wednesday, December 31st the Recreation Center will be operate regular hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. that evening. Those attending the “New Years Eve Sock Hop Party” from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. will be given wrist bands. The Recreation Center will be closed on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2009 and will resume regular hours on Friday, January 2, 2009. THE CITY OF SANIBEL CIVIC (SENIOR) CENTER will be closed Thursday & Friday, December 25 & 26, 2008 in observance of Christmas and resume regular operating hours on Monday, December 29, 2008. The Civic (Senior) Center will also be closed on Thursday & Friday, January 1 & 2, 2009, in observance of New Year’s Day, resuming regular operating hours on Monday, January 5, 2009. THE WINTER HOLIDAY YOUTH RECREATION PROGRAM will operate Monday, December 22, 2008 to Friday, January 2, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will not operate Thursday, December 25, 2008 in observance of Christmas and Thursday, January 1, 2009 in observance of New Years. This is a fee–based program that is conducted by the City of Sanibel at the Recreation Center for school-age children. Registration for the Winter Holiday Youth Recreation Program is now open at the Recreation Center front desk, 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Road, until the program is full.
