Lightning Strike Causes Power Outage on Sanibel Island
The City of Sanibel is currently experiencing a power outage due to a lighthing strike on the main electrical transmission line. LCEC crews have been dispatched and will provide an update once the situation has been assessed. It is estimated that power is out on Sanibel Island from the east end area of Lighthouse Beach to the middle and west end area near the Sanibel School located at 3840 Sanibel-Captiva Road. Estimated restoral of power is not available at this time.
