SANIBEL CITY CLERK SMITH PRESIDENT OF FLORIDA ASSOCIATION

Today, Pamela Smith, City of Sanibel City Clerk, begins her term as President of the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC).

Today, Pamela Smith, City of Sanibel City Clerk, begins her term as President of the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC). The FACC was founded on October 26, 1972 with the objective of promoting and establishing the education of Florida Municipal Clerks and has approximately 600 members. Smith has served as the City of Sanibel Municipal Clerk since December 1, 1999.

Along with partners, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, the Florida League of Cities and the Florida Institute of Government, the FACC provides enhanced educational opportunities to all municipal clerks. Career Development Institutes, annual conferences and one-day educational programs are conducted throughout the State to ensure convenience and participation by all city clerks.

In 2006, Smith was honored by the Florida League of Cities Excellence Awards Program as the Florida City Clerk of the Year and was honored by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) in May 2009 with the Quill Award, the association’s highest honor. She also participated in the International Exchange Program visiting the Netherlands in April 2009, which was sponsored by the IIMC and totally funded by IIMC and personally by Smith.
