Sanibel Beauty Salon, 2467 Periwinkle Way, in the Bailey Shopping Center, is owned and operated by Mary Anne and Joe Banta. Mary Aleck opened Sanibel Beauty Salon on March 25, 1951. Even though all of her equipment had not arrived on the Island in time, she was determined to open on March 25th because that’s Greek Independence Day. On that day, she celebrated both her Greek heritage and her Independence as a pioneering businesswoman; as unbelievable as it sounds now, she had to have her husband file papers in court saying that she was competent to own a business. This salon continues with owner’s husband and wife Joe and Mary Anne Banta, Mary Aleck’s daughter. Now, this third generation family with Deena, MaryAnne’s daughter and Mary’s granddaughter carries on the tradition of making people look and feel good.
The sign being held by Deena and Mary Ann is $195.
Lily & Company, 520 Tarpon Bay Road, is owned by long term residents Dan Schuyler and broker-associate realtor Karen Bell, supporters of numerous Island causes. This jewelry store operates in a historical landmark. The store is named after Karen’s Labradoodle, Lily. Lily has two Labrador companions, Gracie and Angel. Each year a birthday party is held for Lily and Company where many dog owners show up to show off their dogs, purchase raffle tickets for worthy causes and shop in the store to purchase their treasures. Lily & Company was recently recognized as one of the top ten designer jewelry stores in the U.S. Dan and Karen are active Islanders ringing the bell loud and clear in support of our Island.
The sign being held by Dan and Karen is $195
The Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, 2475 Library Way, 1037 Periwinkle Way and 15975 McGregor Boulevard, Fort Myers, was established in 2002. Craig Albert is the president of this bank. This Bank is a frequent supporter of Island causes and for customers a welcomed destination for fresh coffee, baked goods and T.V. Craig is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where many years ago he was performing maintenance for PITT by painting dorm rooms. Craig, you’ve come a long way baby!
The sign being held by Craig is $195
You can become a sponsor by purchasing a 24 x 32 sign for $195 or a 24 x 18 sign for $135. Signs may be purchased anonymously.
