The City of Sanibel Recreation Department would like to recognize the Member of the Month, Bill Kenworthy.
Bill Kenworthy has been a resident of Sanibel for 7 years and has been a member of the Sanibel Recreation Center since the facility opened in December 2007. He joined to work on physical conditioning and favors the lap pool for his workouts. Kenworthy has been able to stay flexible and conditioned after two back surgeries by utilizing the weight room and the lap pool. When asked what his comments on the Sanibel Recreation Center were Kenworthy replied, “The staff working at this facility really make this place rated 1 to 10, a 10. The lifeguards, maintenance, and office staff all make it a pleasure to come here.”
Kenworthy spent 40 years piloting ships on the Delaware River, Chesapeake Canal and the Delaware Canal. He also enjoys flying planes. He loved doing triathlons especially the Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon. Kenworthy has two daughters and is now happy to be living on Sanibel for six and a half months of the year.
