Sanibel Recreation Department Recognizes Member of the Month Laura Rizzo

The City of Sanibel Recreation Department would like to recognize the Member of the Month, Laura Rizzo.

Laura Rizzo and her family have been members of the Sanibel Recreation Center since its opening in 2007. They joined as a young family and participated in many programs over the years including After School Rec, Youth Basketball and Youth Cheerleading. She enjoys using the weight room and taking the Cycle Zone classes. When asked how the Sanibel Recreation Center has impacted her life Rizzo responds, “Rec has given me and my family the gift of health. It is so awesome to let off stress in the classes and weight room. My kids also enjoy the health benefits of exercise.”

Rizzo works as a Legal/Accounting Administrative Assistant at her husband, Thomas F. Rizzo’s accounting and law practice on Sanibel. During the tax and accounting off season she is a substitute teacher at The Sanibel School where her youngest now attends. Rizzo has three children, a 15 year old son, a 14 year old daughter and a 6 year old daughter.
