Tropical Storm Gustav - Advisory #2 - 1 p.m. August 27, 2008
Tropical Storm Gustav is currently 730 miles southeast of Sanibel traveling northwest at 5 mph.
Sustained winds are currently at 60 mph, Gustav should regain Hurricane strength on Thursday once it moves away from Haiti. A turn towards the west-northwest is forecast for the next few days with a gradual increase in forward speed.
We are continuing to monitor the storm for any change in course and advise citizens, business owners, and visitors to do likewise. No future advisories will be issued related to Tropical Storm Gustav unless Sanibel is predicted to be impacted by this storm.
