U.S. Census Needs Local Citizens Familiar with Island to Complete Task

The City of Sanibel has been notified that the United States Census Bureau has numerous job opportunities available for local residents to assist in the 2010 Census.

Positions available include: Census Taker; Crew Leader; Crew Leader Assistant; Recruiting Assistant; and Census Clerk.

Census takers usually work in their own neighborhoods or communities and work varied hours, including evening and weekend opportunities, not exceeding 40 hours per week. Pay is $12 to $15 per hour depending on position held. Applicants will be required to take a test measuring general math and English skills.

Tests will be administered at the Sanibel Library at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 and at the City of Sanibel Recreation Center at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2010.
