Island-Wide Shared Use Path Repairs Underway

On Monday, April 28, 2008, the City of Sanibel’s 2008 Shared Use Path Repair Project commenced. The contractor doing the work has sixty days to complete the project. Annually, the City of Sanibel inspects all 23 miles of Shared Use Paths and prioritizes the need to repair damaged, cracked and root intrusion portions of the path. This year’s repair project is $162,919.

Various portions of Sanibel’s Shared Use Paths will be periodically closed to all traffic during repairs. All path users are alerted to use due caution while navigating around the construction areas. The City is expediting the repairs to minimize your inconvenience. Everyone’s cooperation is greatly appreciated.
