COLD WEATHER ADVISORY

The National Weather Service in Ruskin, FL has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Lee County beginning at 1 a.m. through 9 a.m., Thursday, February 27^th. Forecast calls for cold temperatures tonight and again on Thursday night.

Wednesday Night, February 27, 2008- Mostly clear, with lows in the lower 40’s. North-northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with higher gusts.

Thursday Morning, February 28, 2008- Clear with wind chill values in the mid 30’s North-northeast wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Thursday Daytime, February 28, 2008- Sunny and mostly clear with highs in the 60’s.

Thursday Night, February 28, 2008- Mostly clear with temperatures in low 40’s. Northeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.

The City of Sanibel encourages you to take the following precautions:

Bring Pets inside a covered area
Bring potted plants inside and cover outdoor plants
Do not use charcoal or gas grills inside as they produce deadly Carbon Monoxide fumes
Check on your neighbors, friends, and relatives to make sure they are prepared for the colder weather
Do not use extension cords if you are using electric heaters and be sure to keep heaters away from curtains and other flammable items
Dress warmly in layers if you will be outside for extended periods
Monitor local media to stay current with weather conditions
