The Island Cinema of Sanibel, at 535 Tarpon Bay Road, is offering "Sanibel Recreation Center Member Movie Rates" at half price movie ticket prices for all City of Sanibel Recreation Center members.

A Tornado Watch was released at 2:40 pm. by the National Weather Service and will be in effect until 10pm. An area of strong thunderstorms about 40 miles southwest of Sanibel is moving northeast toward Lee County. The upper levels of the atmosphere are becoming increasingly hostile, with winds veering and increasing in speed. As these storms move across our area between 4 and 7pm, some of the downpours could tap into these upper level winds resulting in local wind damage or tornadoes/waterspouts.

Construction work on the Sanibel-Captiva Road shared use path extension and road resurfacing from Pine Avenue to Blind Pass Bridge is continuing. Asphalt paving of the roadway and new shared use path will begin on Tuesday, October 11th and take approximately three days to complete.
