Alzheimer Screening Provided by Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center Friday, February 10th Sanibel Recreation Center

The City of Sanibel Recreation Center will host the Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center Screenings on Friday, February 10th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Due to the positive response last year, the City of Sanibel Vegetation Committee is again offering guided native plant tours of City Hall grounds, which have been planted solely with native plants.

Complimentary Blood Pressure Screening Sanibel Recreation Center Tuesday, February 7th 9 a.m. to Noon

The Sanibel Fire District will offer complimentary blood pressure screening at the Sanibel Recreation Center on Tuesday, February 7th from 9 a.m. until Noon.

Sanibel Police Chief Releases Year-End Stats: Vehicular Accidents Steeply Decline

Today, Sanibel Police Chief Bill Tomlinson released the year-end Department Statistics for 2011. The Federally reportable crimes (UCR) for 2011 remained at last year’s level of 120. Within the Federally reportable crimes, there were two noteworthy statistics.

In coordination with the City of Sanibel’s island-wide Brazilian Pepper Eradication Program and the City’s waste hauler, Veolia, a free curbside pickup for Brazilian pepper debris is scheduled for Thursday, February 16th and Friday, February 17th for all properties in Zone 6.
