City of Sanibel Veteran's Day Schedule - Recreation Center Open (11/11/08)
Sanibel City Hall offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2008. The offices will re-open Wednesday, November 12, 2008.
All garbage, recycling and vegetation waste collection by Waste Pro scheduled for the week of Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2008 will run as scheduled.

Sanibel Councilmember Jim Jennings has been appointed to the 2008 Florida League of Cities Legislative Committee. The Legislative Committee will review the recommended legislative priorities of the League’s five legislative policy committees.
Sanibel Mayor Mick Denham Recipient of the Audubon Society “Conservationist of the Year Award”
Sanibel Mayor Mick Denham has been awarded the “Conservationist of the Year Award” on Thursday, October 23rd by the Audubon of Southwest Florida at the 11th Annual Environmental Breakfast at Riverside Community Center hosted by Southwest Florida Council for Environment Education & Audubon of Southwest Florida.

Halloween is on Friday, October 31st, 2008. The City of Sanibel Police Department is suggesting trick-or-treating between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
