The Sanibel Recreation Center is beginning registration for the Jr. Mints Youth Cheerleading Team. The Jr. Mints are a non-competitive cheerleading team. Participants need to be between Kindergarten and Fifth Grade.

As a final phase of the recent asphalt resurfacing of Sanibel-Captiva Road, from Gulf Pines Drive to Pine Avenue, permanent thermoplastic road striping will be applied over the existing temporary striping. The work should take approximately 3 days to complete. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience to the public.
The Sanibel Fire District will offer complimentary blood pressure screening at the Sanibel Recreation Center on Monday, November 1st from 9 a.m. until Noon.
Effective October 1st, 2010, Veolia Environmental Services is the City’s franchised solid waste hauler. The contract requires Veolia to provide lock bars for dumpsters upon request at no cost to the customer.

Monday, October 25th and Tuesday, October 26th are Fun Days at the Sanibel Recreation Center. Fun Days are for grades kindergarten through eighth and will operate from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
The Sanibel-Captiva Lions Club will be providing free Vision and Hearing Screenings on Friday, October 22nd from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sanibel Recreation Center.
Sanibel City Council is now accepting applications for the Historical Preservation Committee
Effective October 18th, Sanibel residents and property owners will purchase their Beach Parking Permits at the Sanibel Recreation Center, 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Road. Beach Parking Permits will no longer be sold at the Sanibel Police Department.
